Secretary-General for Telecommunications and Posts Athanasios Staveris-Polykalas is specialised in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning algorithms, data analysis,  and Natural Language Processing technologies.

On July 2019 he was appointed an adviser to the Minister of Digital Governance with strong contribution on cybersecurity matters and the implementation of the 112 alert service in cooperation with the Secretariat-General of Civil Protection.

Mr Staveris holds a PhD on High Energy Physics from the University of Athens, a Master’s degree on Applied Physics from the National Technical University of Athens,  and an MBA for Executives from Plymouth University.

He has worked on a broad range of ICT projects in the private sector for more than ten years, while he has also worked as a researcher at the CDF experiment in Fermilab, USA through an RTN scholarship and with the cooperation of the INFN Sezione di Pisa.

Roee Laufer is Head of Global security operations at CyberProof.

With over 22 years of experience, he is considered a leading expert in Cyber security program management and holds vast experience in leading cyber roles for financial, governmental, and high-tech organizations and corporations.
Prior to assuming this role, Mr. Laufer was head of Cyber Division for the Israel Airports Authority, where he established the Israeli Transportation SOC.

Roee held several CISO positions, including NICE Systems and AIG insurance local branch.

Roee holds a B.Sc in Computer Science and Mathematics and an MBA from Bar Ilan University.

Gilad Zahavi is a Senior Director of Cyber Threat Intelligence Analytics at Cognyte, a global leader in security analytics software that empowers governments and enterprises with actionable Intelligence. Gilad has over 20 years of security experience and is a leading expert in the cyber threat intelligence domain.

Prior to joining Cognyte, he held executive positions at SenseCy Cyber Intelligence Ltd. and Terrogence Ltd. . He holds an MA in Near Middle Eastern Studies and a BA in Islamic Studies and Communications.

Director of IT & Telecommunications IPTO S.A. (ΑΔΜΗΕ) CISO. Established Cybersecurity Strategy based on zero trust architecture and the organization’s SOC for both IT and OT systems. His epartment is responsible for the design, operation and maintenance of the telecommunication network of IPTO which is considered as critical infrastructure of the country.

He has 12 years of experience in Telecommunications sector at OTE Group where held senior engineer, project management and other managerial positions.

He graduated in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (BEng) from the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne, United Kingdom and a Master’s degree in Mobile and Satellite Communications (MSc)  from University of Surrey, Guildford, United Kingdom and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Hellenic Open University.
